Sjö manneskjur, allt annað hvort starfsmenn ríkis eða borgar, leyfðu mér að stækka upp og sýna launaseðlana sína; strætisvagnabílstjóri, kennari, fóstra, borgarstarfsmaður, hjúkrunarfræðingur og fleiri. Er menntun máttur þegar sum menntun er lítils metin. Íslendingar vinna mikið af því að þeir þurfa þess til að hafa í sig og á, en það bitnar á komandi kynslóðum sem við höfum ekki tíma fyrir meðan þau þurfa á okkar tíma að halda. 

Public Employees
Seven people, working for the state and the city, gave me receipts of their pay-checks - a teacher, a nurse, a bus-driver etc. These salary receipts indicate how many hours they have worked, how much they have earned, their income tax and other dues. In Iceland, you are hardly any better off with a good education. People with little or no education have almost the same salary as teachers or nurses. Icelanders work a lot. We work so much that we don't have time to raise our children.
